Why Holt is Home to the Very Best North Norfolk Hotels
Some of the finest hotels in North Norfolk can be found in and around Holt, a charming, Georgian market town located just three miles from the coast. This pretty place is a haven for shoppers, with all sorts of independent boutiques and galleries, as well as tucked-away courtyards, corners and alleyways which are home to a delightful array of fashion stores, jewellers, upmarket gift shops and more.
In addition to all sorts of eateries – everything from cafes, bars and restaurants to a tapas place and popular Indian – Holt is home to an eclectic mix of overnight accommodation. The range of North Norfolk hotels here spans from pub rooms, albeit very nice pub rooms, to a charming, 16-bedroom, top-end B&B located in one of the town’s most historic buildings, set just off the High Street.
Beautiful Blakeney, North Norfolk
If you’re looking for somewhere to escape to for a few days, I can thoroughly recommend staying in one of the Norfolk luxury hotels. Norfolk is one of those lucky places that has plenty to offer without having to try too hard, thanks to its attractive coastline and fabulous green countryside which stretches for miles around. There are all sorts of hotels in North Norfolk, from rooms in people’s houses to posh B&Bs, but as you’ll probably be out and about for most of your stay, the accommodation isn’t really paramount.
Enjoy The Sandy Expanse Of North Norfolk’s Beaches
The beach at Holkham on the North Norfolk coast is a truly stunning expanse of sand. It will keep you and the children amused for hours looking for shells or just walking along the water’s edge.
Getting to Holkham Beach is reached by walking about a mile down Lady Anne’s Drive near Holkam Hall and is worth a visit during any weekend break Norfolk.
Holkham Hall is the home of the Coke family and the Earls of Leicester and was built between 1734 and 1764 by Thomas Coke, the first Earl of Leicester. The current Earl of Leicester still resides, with his family, in the Hall which is open from April 1 to October 31 on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays 12 noon to 4pm.
If you are staying in one of the hotels in North Norfolk, the beach is the place to visit with either a bucket and spade or your walking boots. The whole family can enjoy a day out.
