However soon after, Anglo-saxon homes were being destroyed to make way for a fortress that would tower above the town, the initial wood version was finished in 1075AD.

1096 saw the work beginning on what now is the famous Norwich Cathedral and by 1194, Norwich was granted the status of a city by Richard 1st.

Norwich is considered as an East Anglian city and is situated in the Eastern part of England in the UK. It is the principal city of Norfolk which is known as the regional administrative centre and is also a county city. During the staring of 11th century Norwich achieved success becoming the second largest city in England.
